Policies for all LINK Transportation


Passenger Conduct

The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers and therefore is in charge at all times.

  • Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Children under 8 or 80 pounds must be in car seat/ booster seat per NJ STATE LAW, seats may not be left on board 
  • Foul Language, disruptive behavior and/ or harassment of any kind will not tolerated.
  • Anyone appearing to be under the influence/ incoherent/ vomiting will not be allowed to board 
  • No Smoking, Drinking, eating or littering.
  • Shirts and Footwear required.
  • Seatbelts should be worn at all times.
  • 5 Shopping Bag Limit, bags must remain in rider possession at all times.
  • Tipping the drivers is not permitted.
  • Anyone with soiled clothing or whose poor hygiene is disruptive or dangerous to others WILL NOT be allowed to board 

THOSE UNABLE TO OBSERVE THESE POLICIES AND/OR CAUSE DISRUPTION TO THE LINK SERVICE, MAY BE IMMEDIATLEY, TEMPORARILY, or PERMENTLY SUSPENDED FROM LINK SERVICE ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS. 

LINK is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 

Bag Aboard VehicleBags & Bikes Aboard Vehicles

Grocery/shopping bags are limited to 5 per person.

Luggage is limited to one carry-on item (not to exceed 22") and one personal item, such as a purse or backpack.

Passengers are asked to be mindful of others when handling bags on the bus. Bags should be stowed at the passenger's feet and should remain in the passenger's possession at all times. LINK is not responsible for bags left behind.

Bicycles are allowed on board LINK buses (space permitting).

Children Carseat in VehicleChildren & Car Seats

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under the age of 8 or 80 pounds must be secured in a car seat or booster seat.

Parents/guardians must supply the appropriate car seat/booster seat for the child(ren). The driver will assist in securing the car seat/booster seat into the vehicle. Parents/guardians must secure the child(ren) into the car seat/booster seat.

Route Deviation

Route deviations up to a quarter of a mile off of Routes 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 23 may be requested. (Deviated Fixed Route Service)

To request a route deviation, riders must call the LINK Dispatch office at 800-842-0531, by noon the day before travel. Requests made on Saturday, Sunday or a County Holiday will not be accepted. Monday requests must be made by noon Friday.

All requests for deviations are subject to time and space availability.

Drivers are not permitted to accept or approve deviation requests or make unscheduled route changes.

All requests must be made through LINK Dispatch.
