About the LINK

The Hunterdon County LINK Transportation System provides transportation services to ALL residents of Hunterdon County, NJ. Funding for operation of the LINK is provided by the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Commissioners,
NJ TRANSIT and the Federal Transit Administration.

The Hunterdon County LINK Transportation System is comprised of a variety of services including "scheduled route" services (Flemington Shuffles, Cross County Shuffles), "demand response" services, and customized transportation services and assistance.

Schedule Changes, Delayed Openings, Closures and Inclement Weather

To All LINK Riders, LINK will be closed on 12/31/21, New Year’s Eve, in Observance of New Year’s Day

Published schedules are subject to change. Pick up and drop off times may be subject to delays based upon traffic, weather, loading times and other circumstances beyond the LINK’s control.

LINK does not assume responsibility for inconvenience, expense or damage resulting from errors in timetables, delayed buses, failure to make transfers, or for shortage of equipment

Delayed Openings, Closures and Inclement Weather Announcements:

Buses may be delayed due to traffic, weather, loading times and other circumstances beyond the LINK’s control. To check the status of a delayed bus call 1-800- 842-0531(Monday-Friday, 6:30am — 7:30pm, Saturday 8:30am – 7:30pm).

Delayed Opening and service cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced as follows:

To ensure the safety of passengers and drivers, the LINK will monitor weather and road conditions to determine the level of service throughout the service day. Service may be modified or pickups rescheduled, with advanced notice, as a result.

LINK is not responsible for passenger refusal to accept modified service on inclement weather days.

Policies

Passenger Conduct

  The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers.

  • Foul language and/or behavior that is disruptive to the driver or other passengers will not be tolerated.
  • Anyone appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled dangerous substances will not be transported.
  • Smoking is not permitted aboard vehicles.
  • No drinking, eating or littering.
  • Footwear and shirts are required.
  • Seat belts should be worn at all times.
  • Tipping of drivers is not permitted.
  • Speak softly when using cell phones.
  • Use ear phones when listening to audio equipment.

Passengers who are unable to observe these courtesies are subject to immediate removal from the vehicle and/or loss of future service.

www.ridethelink.comBags and Bikes Aboard Vehicles

Grocery/shopping bags are limited to 5 per person.

Luggage is limited to one carry on item (not to exceed 22”) and one personal item, such as a purse or backpack.

Passengers are asked to be mindful of others when handling bags on the bus. Bags should be stowed at passenger’s feet and should remain in passenger’s possession at all time. LINK is not responsible for bags left behind.

Bicycles are allowed on board LINK buses (space permitting).

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under the age of 8 or 80 pounds must be secured in a car seat or booster seat.

Parents/guardians must supply the appropriate car seat/booster seat for the child(ren). The driver will assist in securing the car seat/booster seat into the vehicle.  Parents/guardians must secure the child(ren) into the car seat/booster seat.

Route Deviation

Route deviations up to ¼ of a mile off of Routes 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23 may be requested. (Deviated Fixed Route Service)

To request a route deviation, riders must call the LINK Dispatch office at 1-800-842-0531, by 12:00 noon the day before travel.  Requests made on Saturday, Sunday or a County Holiday will not be accepted. Monday requests must be made by 12 noon Friday.

All requests for deviations are subject to time and space availability.

Drivers are not permitted to accept or approve deviation requests or make unscheduled route changes. 

All requests must be made through LINK Dispatch.
